Driving forward European mechanical and electrical engineering business L.B. Foster’s Automation & Materials Handling division is the challenge for its newly appointed head of sales as the company looks to expand into new and existing markets across the continent.

Chris Brown has over 20 years experience working in the automation and bespoke engineering equipment markets. He joins L.B. Foster Automation & Materials Handling at its headquarters in Nottingham. This follows his success developing medium to long term business growth strategies for technology company FLIR System's Automation Division.

Peter Jones, Managing Director, L.B. Foster Europe, says: “This is a key strategic appointment for our automation and materials handling businesses. It is designed to build upon our reputation for excellence for developing innovative solutions in automated engineering and conveyors.”

Chris Brown is new head of sales

Chris has a HNC in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University. He comments: “I could not ask for a better existing commercial team to work with. They are all talented, technically and commercially competent people and, most importantly, enthusiastic for development and growth. I am looking forward to working with the management team in actioning L.B. Foster Automation’s long term strategic plan”.

L.B. Foster Automation & Materials Handling’s Nottingham ‘Centre of Excellence’ delivers increased capacity and exceptional manufacturing quality across its entire product portfolio - from overhead and floor conveyors to warehouse garment and handling solutions, as well as  innovative machinery and automated production systems for the automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and logistics markets.  

The company employs over 50 staff at its ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Nottingham.
