Browns Park Swinging Bridge Project

L.B. Foster recently announced the supply of 63 AlumaBridge® aluminum bridge deck panels, aluminum stringers, floor beams and other bridge components to Mueller Construction of Glenwood Springs, CO for the complete rehabilitation of the 64-year-old Browns Park Swinging Bridge.

The 320-foot suspension style bridge spans the Green River within Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge in Northwest Colorado, located near the Colorado-Utah state border.  Major work is underway on upgrading the bridge’s entire infrastructure, which when completed will restore access to vehicle, livestock, and foot traffic.  “Our corrosion resistant, environmentally friendly AlumaBridge decking provides a lightweight preassembled solution for accelerated bridge construction, improved load capacity, and infinite fatigue life,” commented Mike Riley, Marketing Manager, L.B. The original bridge, which dates back to 1928 was rebuilt in 1954 and has been out-of-commission since 2014 due to major damages.

Foster is the exclusive North American distributor of AlumaBridge aluminum orthotropic bridge decking.  Projects currently in production include new aluminum decking for the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority's Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge which is expected to be installed in short, overnight closures later this year.
